MAIN TASK OF THE FOUNDATION

Load transfer from the structure to the foundation. There are quite a few types of foundations, but they are all divided into three main types: strip, columnar (pile) and slab. The most effective are usually combined foundations that combine features of several types at once in their design. So, the pile foundation is de facto a combination of columnar and strip, and the “ribbed slab” foundation is a symbiosis of slab and strip.

It is also possible to distinguish a strip foundation with backfilling and a floating floor, USHP (insulated Swedish slab), prefabricated strip foundation, several types of columnar foundations (screw piles, bored piles, driven piles, etc.). Each of the varieties has its own characteristics, which make one or another foundation the best depending on one or another type of house construction and geological conditions at the construction site.
